Chiropractors specialize in spine care, however they also learn how to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
A manipulation (or an adjustment) is a highly-skilled and precise mechanical treatment that helps to restore movement back to normal. Often a “cracking” or “popping” sound is heard due to the change of pressure within the joint as a result of the adjustment.
An adjustment is a safe and effective mechanical treatment aimed to reduce pain, stiffness, and improve movement. Most patients experience immediate relief following treatment.
Chiropractors must complete a rigorous 4 year Doctor of Chiropractic degree after completing a postsecondary program. The Doctor of Chiropractic program includes an integrative curriculum specializing in clinical skills and decision making while also getting hands on experience through courses in chiropractic skills, diagnosis and symptomatology, orthopaedics and diagnostic imaging, as well as a 12 month internship.

Pediatric chiropractic care is a gentle treatment modified to a child’s size. Pediatric care involves a thorough history and detailed physical examination including full spine, muscle and motion palpation to determine necessary treatment.
Chiropractic care can assist with health complaints such as nursing difficulties, like latching and sleeping difficulties.
Like adults, children and teens can also experience musculoskeletal pain and injuries to the back, neck, knees, shoulders and other areas of the body. The assessment and technique used to manage these issues are similar to those of adults, but gentler and adjusted to the body and age of the patient based on development.
Chiropractic care can assist in the treatment of injuries related to falls, sports, and day-to-day life! Depending on the symptoms, treatment can include gentle mobilizations or manipulation, soft tissue therapy, exercise, postural correction and lifestyle counselling.
